POWELL QUALITY POLICY

The company specialises in the design, supply and installation of commercial interiors; including interior design, furniture and fit-out works and refurbishment services within Wales & the South West of England.

The business is not constrained by the size, scope and cost of any project as long as the financial risk is managed. It is accepted that timescales to deliver bigger jobs would be extended with the customers’ consent.

The management and all who work at Powell are committed to providing the highest possible level of service in satisfying the requirements of our Customers.

In order to ensure that we achieve excellence in all our activities we have implemented a formal Quality Management System, which satisfies the requirements of BS EN ISO9001:2015.

The company’s objectives which underpin the Quality Management System are:

  • Our Customers’ needs shall be fully understood.
  • Appropriate resources are provided in terms of facilities and relevant skills to fulfil Customers’ needs.
  • The company strives to achieve the principle of ‘getting it right first time, every time’.
  • The company is committed to a process of continual quality improvement and sets quality improvement objectives which are re-assessed regularly.
  • Progress towards the quality objectives is monitored.

The Quality Policy and quality objectives adopted by management have been made known to all employees.

This will be the foundation on which we will build continuing improvements in our performance and the effectiveness of our Management System.

The Quality Policy and the Quality Management System and the effectiveness of the Quality Management System are reviewed and updated regularly to take account of changing circumstances and Customer requirements objectives and improvement opportunities.

Environmental policy

The management and all who work at Powell are committed to the care of the environment and the prevention of pollution.

The organisation ensures that all its activities are carried out in conformance with the relevant environmental legislation, guidelines laid down by the Furniture Industry Research Association (FIRA) and other requirements related to our environmental aspects

Powell seeks to minimise waste arisings, promote recycling, reduce energy consumption and where possible, to work with suppliers who themselves have sound environmental policies.

An essential feature of the Environmental Management System is a commitment to improving environmental performance. This is achieved by setting annual environmental improvement objectives and targets which are regularly monitored and reviewed. The objectives and targets are publicised throughout the organisation and all staff are committed to their achievement.

In order to ensure the achievement of the above commitments, the organisation has implemented an Environmental Management System which satisfies the requirements of BS EN ISO14001: 2015, including procedures for emergency response.

This Policy and the obligations and responsibilities required by the Environmental Management System have been communicated to all employees and persons working on behalf of the organisation. The Policy is available to the public on the company’s web site.

Health and Safety policy

The company specialises in the design, supply and installation of commercial interiors; including interior design, furniture and fitout works and refurbishment services within Wales & the South West of England.

The business is not constrained by the size, scope and cost of any project as long as the financial risk is managed. It is accepted that timescales to deliver bigger jobs would be extended with the customers’ consent.

This Policy includes a commitment to comply with all applicable legal and other requirements that relates to our Occupational Health and Safety hazards.

Powell has implemented a formal Health & Safety Management System which sets out arrangements and procedures to ensure compliance with these obligations, and which also satisfies the requirements of the Standard BS ISO 45001:2018, including the commitment to the prevention of injury and ill health, and continual improvement and the framework for the setting and reviewing of OH&S objectives.

This Policy applies to all employees, who are required to work in a safe manner so that they do not endanger themselves, their colleagues or any other person, and do not put plant, equipment or work at risk.

This Policy has been communicated to all employees so that they are aware of their individual responsibilities. Appropriate training is provided by the company. Arrangements are also made for employees and management to consult on and participate in health and safety issues.

Health and safety performance and this Policy are reviewed regularly, and measures are implemented to achieve improvements in performance.

The Policy is available to the public and interested parties.
